Where do you get your ideas?
Anywhere and everywhere. I've been inspired by dreams, movie scenes, landscapes, other books or passing comments. Often times an idea will manifest on its own on a word that turns into an entire story.
What advice do you have for aspiring writers?
Read. I am a firm believer that if you don't have time to read then you don't have time to write. There is something to be learned in every genre, contemporary and classic. Most importantly, write for yourself. When you start to worry about what other people will think, you start to hold back. Don't be afraid to ruffle a few feathers. Take a risk! I can tell you from personal experience that if I had considered one moment about what someone might think, my stories would be lacking.
will you read my work?
No. That is simply time that I do not have. Outside of writing I work full time in an office and part time as a photographer. I suggest joining a local or online critique group if you're looking for feedback.
I've seen other titles by Alison Paige, is this you?"
It is not. My name is spelled Allison Paige. If the title is not on this site then chances are it is not my work.
Will we see more of Raum and Leah?
Absolutely. After the Bees is just the first book of the Revelation Trilogy.
I saw/heard that proceeds from your books are donated. Is this true?
Partial proceeds sold of the Revelation Trilogy are donated to The Bee Cause. It is important to me to raise awareness to real environmental crises our world is facing. Without bees, and other pollinators, mankind simply cannot survive. While the story tells a dark tale of a mortal woman trapped in a demon-ruled world, the underlying message remains that our world is in danger for its own darkness if we do not make serious changes.
